Staedtler Triplus Fineliner 0.3 MM Super Fine Point Pens

Staedtler is a brand that I grew up using at school and home.  In South America you can find their pens and pencils everywhere.  To my surprise here in the US they are not as common.  They are very good quality writing instruments, and they have a nice selection, specially for architects and drafters.

During one of my last visits to the office store I found the Staedtler Triplus Fineliner.  Even thought I had never seen this specific product back home I knew that this brand would not dissapoint.   And it didn't.

The 0.3 mm tip is very nice to write with, at least for me (If you like to press the pen hard against the paper this might not be the right product for you).  The barrel is an interesting triangular shape that provides a comfortable hold when writing.  The case shown here comes with 10 different vibrant colors.  The ink is acid free making it ideal if you like scrap-booking  or crafting.  Also it comes with Staedtler award winning case that snaps to the back and holds the fine liners upright.   All their products are made in Germany.

PS:  I went back to Staples and they now have Staedtler colored pencils, erasers, and pencil sharpeners; hopefully soon they'll have their complete writing line.

Parker Vector Roller Ball

When I think of pens Parker comes to my mind.  It is in fact one of the first brands that I remember using.    Parker has been in business since 1988 and they have really mastered the art of making pens.  They offer a wide variety of models and prices.  These pens can be found everywhere from Walmart to writing instruments specialty stores.

Here is the Parker Vector Roller ball. They offer the Vector model in roller ball, fountain pen, ball point and mechanical pencil.  They come in a wide variety of finishes and designs and every year they have special editions.

The vector is a well made pen that will last forever.  It is made stainless steel with a glossy scratch resistant surface.  They even come with a 2 year warranty.  The ink usually comes in black, but is easy to find refills in blue and black, they offer 2 additional colors but they are difficult to find.

Uniball Vision Needle

This is definitely one of my favorites pens, from how smooth it writes, to the design, and of course all the ink colors available.

The first time I tried it, was when I was signing a receipt at a store and the clerk handed me this nice looking pen. One of the main things that came to my attention is how well the ink flows when writing making it just glide through the paper.  I liked it so much that (no, I didn't steal it) I wrote in the back of the receipt the model and immediately after that went to the office supply store to get my own.

I bought the pack that comes with 8 different colors and they are all vibrant colors.  This roller pen features Uni-Ball Super Ink; according to their website this ink "prevents against criminal check washing and other document alteration".

Featured here is the fine tip, which is 0.7 mm.  It is also available in medium tip, 0.8 mm.

Ink colors available are:  black, blue, midnight blue, red, green, purple, orange and pink.

I've had this pen for a few months now, and I have to say I really like it.  It writes very smoothly and has a grip on the barrel that makes it comfortable if you have to write a lot.  This one shown in the picture has a 0.7 mm Metal Tip with purple ink.  It comes in 5 different ink colors:  black, blue, red, green and violet.

Some of this pen features are:
  • Permanent Ink (good for signing documents or checks)
  • Fast Drying Ink perfect for left handed writers
  • Top click
  • Retractable tip

It is also very easy to find at any local office supplier or even pharmacies and retail stores.  It is manufactured by Pentel.  For more information about this pen go here.
